IMMAST takes pleasure in convening one of the most advanced courses till date – Master Course in Laparoscopic Liver Resection (LLR): The first two-day advanced course is scheduled on June 15-16, 2018.

This extensive course is specially designed for a mature laparoscopic surgeon who has a specific interest in Liver surgery. The course can also benefit a junior consultant or a senior level registrar with a declared interest in this unique branch of surgery.

The course promises to teach the details of the nuances of the optics and instrumentation involved in LLR. The participants can also learn setting up Laparoscopic Liver Service and even know details regarding management of complications in Laparoscopic Liver Surgery. Like all other courses conducted at IMMAST, a perfect blend of didactics and extensive hands-on training is characteristic for this course as well.

What indeed makes this course unique is the expert guidance from our team of International and National faculty members:

  • Dr Krishna Menon, King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK. He is an experienced laparoscopic HPB surgeon having performed major laparoscopic liver including major hepatectomies, complex non-anatomical liver resections with a major interest in primary hepatocellular carcinoma (as primary treatment and bridge to liver transplant). Dr Menon has also had a vast experience in laparoscopic pancreatic resections having performed the first total laparoscopic pancreaticduodenectomy in the UK in 2005. Dr Krishna Menon is the Educational and Training Lead for Liver Transplantation and HPB Surgery at King’s College Hospital and also the National Councillor for Liver Transplantation on the British Transplantation Society.
  • Dr P. Senthilnathan, Gem Hospital, Coimbatore, India. Dr Senthilnathan is a Consultant Surgical Gastroenterologist, Division of Minimally Invasive & HPB Surgery, Gem Hospital Centre for Liver and Pancreas at Gem Hospital and Research Centre, Coimbatore.
  • Dr Mahesh Goel, Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, India. Dr Goel is an Associate Professor of Surgical Oncology and is the Chief of Hepatobiliary Surgery at the Tata Memorial Hospital, a premier cancer hospital in India and Asia Pacific region. He has a special interest in resectional surgery for liver tumours and gall bladder cancer and has performed more than 400 resectional surgeries for Liver tumours and more than 500 surgeries for gall bladder cancer in the last 5 years. He has performed the first Robotic radical cholecystectomy and robotic liver resection in India. Currently, he has completed more than 30 robotic hepatobiliary resections using the da Vinci Xi system.
